• What do you think the future holds for the elk? I heard that he did not celebrate after the PK against Liverpool and sometimes seems not to care when on the pitch. I feel Nico is the key to City's future and strong push for Europe. If Fowler continues to improve and we find our best midfield, then they can quickly move back up the table. Surely Keegan won't sell him!!??

  • Nico doesn't seem to celebrate pens, though todays was one of the best I've ever seen.He certainly celebrated his second!! He worked hard today & I think that there's a lot of rubbish talked about him in the press...a case of give a dog a bad name.

  • I think its doubtful that he'll leave. It certainly wouldnt be in our interests to sell Anelka. I hope he isnt unhappy. I dont know if hes our future, but he is our present for sure. He scored 2 at Leicester today in the FA cup.(that isnt a result). If Robbie finds his footing, we will have one of the most lethal striking teams in the preimership

  • Anelka was the same with us. His Brother Didier (who is his agent) will probably have a move proposed. Another thing, when Nick was at Arsenal, Didier played Sunday League Football wearing a S***s top. Who's to say he wouldn't wear a United top today?

  • As reported by the Manchester Evening News:

    Anelka shocker

"FAST-fading Manchester City were stunned today (Saturday) after Nicolas Anelka declared that he would love to play for Real Madrid.

Blues boss Kevin Keegan has stuck with the striker all season, despite a slump in the form of the club's record £13m signing.

But, the 24-year-old was forthright in his remarks on a French TV chat show, when he said: "Real are a club you can't say no to. If the club were to offer to sign me again I would certainly go back there."

Brooding Anelka has made no secret of his desire to play Champions League football and, like Keegan and the City board, he is bitterly disappointed over the club's dramatic plunge down the Premiership - with a near record 13-game winless run ahead of today's game at Portsmouth."

Personally i don't think is much cause for alarm. I have observed the British press take innocent comments and completely blow them out of proportion. If a paper asked Nico if he would like to play for Real, I sure he along with any other footballer would say, sure that would be great, it doesn't mean he is leaving or they have offered to buy him. Typical British press fight toward constant controversey, I believe.
