» Can a river be contaminated with Cholera?

The Ganges River in India is a good example of Cholera contamination. Raw sewage, bodies that have been half, or less, burned. The government is trying to do something, but the Ganges has been the "Holy" River for centuries and it's not easy to do anything when it's in direct opposition to a Religion.A German scientist found long time ago that Cholera is in the water. So a river can be contaminated with Cholera. People should boil water from the river before drinking.Yes. There is no doubt about it.. *Yes, indeed; by fecal contamination.Eating raw fish can also give you cholera.Cholera is transmitted to humans through infected water or food, so yes, a river can be contaminated with cholera.Absolutely yes. Actually, the Cholera v...... - 2009-07-03

» Is my pit bull albino? how can i tell?

ok i have a one year old pit bull. she is solid white with some very very small fawn like spots on her. her skin is pink all over her body, including around her eyes, her paws are pink everything is pink. she has a pink nose but with some fawn like freckles on it too. what makes me wonder is in her eye ball she has a blue dot... her eyes are green but there is a blue white dot inside one of her eyes! is she albino?Albino basically means that the animal has no pigment what so ever, so they will have white fur, and red eyes. They may have other pink sections (like paws) but I'm not completely sure about those, although it would make sense that they were pink. Your dog is just a white pit, the fawn spots on her are just colouring and a...... - 2009-07-03

» Auto Exposure Lock

I'm a noobie. Can someone clarify this specific question about AE lock to me? I know that you would use ae lock so that you could expose to one thing and focus on another, so is this only used in Tv and Av, and not in manual mode? Since exposure is controlled by the shutter speed and aperture, can't you just point at what you want to expose at, set the aperture and shutter speed, focus on the subject, recompose, then shoot? It would help out a lot if someone expained a scenario and how they would use ae lock. Thanks in advance.Your understanding of AE lock is correct, used only for aperature and shutter priority camera modes. Two quick questions for the masses. 1. Can anyone discuss their experience with vbulletin as opposed to phpbb? As a user or as a host. I'm looking to implement a forum on my server and frankly, I don't really see an appreciable difference between to two. Any comments would be appreciated. 2. I've been told that phpbb is not a threaded forum, but there appears to be a logical order to reading their posts, and I see no real difference here. If phpbb is not threaded, what the heck is the difference exactly and why would I want to go that route? Thanks, MikeOriginally posted by safelistsmart Two quick questions for the masses. 1. In Joel 2:1-11 there is a vivid description of an army (many times in some bible editions called an army of locusts) .The description is as follows ⠜1 Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, for the day of the LORD is coming, it is near, 2 a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and thick darkness! Like blackness there is spread upon the mountains a great and powerful people; their like has never been from of old, nor will be again after them through the years of all generations. 3 Fire devours before them, and behind them a flame burns. I've started taking 300 mg sublingually for insomnia and want to know if there is a period of time before it starts working.I wish I could give you a good answer, but I haven't found any studies that evaluated sublingual GABA as a treatment for insomnia. Here's a personal pespective: I tried sublingual GABA last year, and after 90 days, I dropped it, since it did not seem to have any effect other than to deplete my pocketbook. The causes of insomnia are many and varied, and what works for one person may not work for another.Sigh. Thanks, pf. Again. I'll give the GABA a try since I did buy a small bottle. And, who knows? it may hurt but no it wont "damage" your feat silly gooseyou're gonna get blisters, make sure they don't rub when you run. my advice: get new shoesActually, it depends on what distance you are running. When you are running, your foot swells so to accommodate for the swelling it is a good idea to buy your shoes a 1/2 size bigger or even a size bigger for marathon training. If you are too worrie about it just wear thicker socks. Not really. Just tie the shoe tight enough.you'll be just fine. Towards the end of the installation, it fails with a crash when trying to boot vista and load the drivers. A new booklet – Faith Communities and Pandemic Flu: Guidance for faith communities and local influenza pandemic committees – has been published by the Department of Communities and Local Government. It was produced by the Faith Communities’ Consultative Council and draws on work undertaken by Deacon Nick Donnelly from the Lancaster diocese and Jim McManus, director of health i...... - 2009-07-03

» What are "catchlights" in eyes?

And how do you do it.. with natural light and with studio lights?? Thanks!Catchlights are specular highlights -which is a fancy term for direct reflection of a light source. It's just a matter of geometry. If this is still unclear, practice with a flash light and a mirror. mikeCatchlights are simply the small white spots that are "caught" on the pupil/iris of the eyes that are reflections of the light source. You generally try to position the subject so that these lights hit about at the 1 o'clock part of the eye. If you are using natural light, you would position the subject until it is right, if using strobes, simply move the light until it hits just right. There are also modifiers that you can attach to strobes so that the catchl...... - 2009-07-03

Okay so I want a need manga to be absorbed in. I'd like it to be on the longer side. I hate when I'm just getting into the story, then BAM, it's over. Romantic, funny and school life are my favourite adjectives to use to describe my manga readings. = ] But a few to give you a picture on what I like, though not a limit on what I have read, would be: Skip Beat. [Current addiction with the new anime!!!, and I'm always waiting for a new chapter of the manga to get out!] Fruits Basket. [All time favourite] Alice 19th. Gakuen Alice. BXB Brothers. » vivitar and phoenix lenses

On ebay i found there lenses Vivitar 600mm series 1 f8 for like $200 Phoenix 100mm to 400mm f4.5 - f6.7 for $170 are they worth getting go should I save my pennies to get a better oneJim's 1st rule of photography: Lenses rule, a camera is just a light-tight box. Translation: The lens really makes the picture (may be some argument talking digital SLRs, but that's another subject). Now the question is, what do you intend to do with the pictures you take? An inexpensive lens may well be perfect for touristy "I was there" type pics and then be totally unacceptable for printing 8x10s. Examine your intended outcome and then determine if a particular lens will fit that need. If you will use a 600mm lens 5 times a year it doesn't...... - 2009-07-03

I thought a copywright was for like inventions and stuff like that, forgive my arrogance.:blushing::(You could say that every photo to take...is an invention of yours. s apply to many things....and just about all forms of art. It basically means that you own the rights to the image you have created...and nobody else has the right to use that as their own. Hello Everyone, I have an interesting question for you guys. I have this client who is a male cross-dresser and we're going to be doing a series of sessions where she will be exploring her femininity and I know that some of the shots will be highly sexual. Most will be fine to print wherever I am sure of it, but I am worried that some of them might not be. Can anyone give me some advice on where I should look into for printing the more overtly sexual stuff? I didn't even think it would be a problem until I was telling my bf about the client and he said that when he was a film major in college one of the labs he sent his reels to refused to work with it because it was too sexual. Something to do with the hurricanes, or perhaps Accu-Weather? http://rawstory.com/news/2005/Commerce_Dep...tiona_1004.html (http://rawstory.com/news/2005/Commerce_Department_tells_Nationa_1004.html) excerpt: The Department of Commerce has issued a blanket media policy to employees of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), requiring that all requests for contact from national media be first approved by the Department, RAW...... - 2009-07-03

This thread was getting some interesting discussion before BigSoc did its database rewind. So here we go again: I advocated a 16-team tournament held every two years: in the odd-number years since the evens are used by the WC and the various continental championships. [Isn't even the Concacaf Gold Cup going to a four-year cycle?] Breakdown: Europe (4), South America (4), North America (2), Asia (2), Africa (2), Oceania (1), Host Country (1). EUR and SA would send their first- and second-place teams for a two-year cycle. NA, Asia, and AFR would send their two champoins. Oceania would have a playoff from their two champions. The host country's last champion would qualify. This would cut travel some, because players would ma...... - 2009-07-03

KENYA: Sh142m TO FIGHT AVIAN FLU VIRUS By Elizabeth Mwai (The East African Standard) June 24, 2006. Posted to the web June 26, 2006 NAIROBI - Kenya has received Sh142 million from the Department for International Development to prepare for a possible Avian flu virus outbreak. Although no cases of Bird Flu have been reported in Kenya, experts fear that such outbreak could spell doom for Kenya. The head of DFiD Kenya, Simon Bland, said the money, which will be managed by Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) would enable Kenya minimise the spread of the influenza should it occur. The funds will be used to strengthen capacity of the Government and communities for early warning and early diagnosis of avian flu. Bland said the money...... - 2009-07-03

Will the Incra fence fit on my saw and if so is it difficult to install? I have also sent this question to Incra but thought you may also help.It will bolt right on, Dave. HOWEVER, the blade guard/splitter unit won't fit over the rear rail. Some options: 1) The rear rail can be split so the guard/splitter fits right where it is. 2) The rear rail can be mounted further to the right than the guard/splitter, leaving it right where it is. This would require leaving the stock right extension table on, to give a large enough mounting span for the rails. Of course you would have no capacity to the le...... - 2009-07-03

So, here it goes: I was going to purchase a used Pentax MX kit from a local antique store for $175 today. Looked at the camera body a bit more and everything looks clean. One problem, though, is that neither the DOF preview nor the timer work. So, I want to know if this is an easy (and, I therefore assume, cheap) fix or if this thing's pretty much toasted. If it is relitively cheap, does anyone have an idea about cost so I can subtract that from the cost of the set? Thanks in advance:hail:a. So I have to make 75 pumpkin pies for Wednesday, and I made 15 today, and I'm sort of having an issue with the filling bubbling while it bakes. Like it's not that huge of a deal but once we take them out of the oven there are these popped air bubbles that have sort of made craters in the pies. And it only happens on some of them. Is there any way to prevent this? Is it from mixing them too much or baking them too long or something? That's a lot of pie. Are the ones with bubbles all on the top rack/closest to the heating element? If so, you can probably eliminate the cratering by swapping racks halfway through baking. That will likely add 10-15 minutes to the baking time, but you should be crater-free. After you pour the pu...... - 2009-07-03

Is it a cluster headache or could it be something worse like a brain tumor. could be a cluster headache. Could be mild sinus pressure, tension, a host of things. Really doubt its a brain tumor as a headache is not a symptom for brain tumors. At age 43 I am half-way through a 20-year term life policy at a decent monthly cost. My question: Even though I'm ten years older than when the policy started and, thus, a new policy would cost more, is it worth it for the long run to end this policy and start a new 20-year one? i.e. "leapfrog" or "ladder" policies. I'm thinking that, otherwise, in 10 years when my current one expires, I'll be at at 53 and any policy then would be more expensive than a new one at 43.This sounds like a term insurance agent trying to squeeze more premiums out of you becuase he doesn't sell whole life so this is the only way he'll get more commission out of you. So...for one cup of rice, use 1 cup of water and 1 cup of tomato sauce.Fajitas --- sautee some bell peppers, onion, and grilled chicken in a little salsa and oil, put into flour tortillas, top with salsa verde, cilantro, and enjoy! » Predictions For The New Season?

I predicted 15th last year so I was pretty close. I am more hopeful this year but I think we'll struggle to get higher than 10th.12th. Too much potential to be that crap again, too little quality to actually threaten to do anything. Small steps forward.young midfield, one more yeras experience, 11thWembley mate! joking lol i reckon possibly top 10. No threat for relegation thoughAnyone going to the first game?Itll most likely be sold out. Cant be asked to pay £20 to watch us anymore. If we have really improved by the new year, ill buy a second half season ticket.between 9th and 11thI'll be there, provided my car doesn't explode before the weekend. I'm actually feeling slightly optimistic for the first time in a long while, so I'll revise...... - 2009-07-03

So any hints/tips/suggestions for the next time would be wonderful. I will add maybe 3 more to this thread in the next 24 hour...... - 2009-07-03
